Litigation Legal Secretary
About the Opportunity
Our client is a respected law firm seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Secretary to provide legal and administrative support to multiple attorneys. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, anticipate needs, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate strong judgment, professionalism, and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, proofread, edit, and finalize legal correspondence and documents
- Manage document production, organization, and file maintenance
- Perform e-filings in administrative, state, and federal courts
- Coordinate communications with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and attorneys
- Maintain legal calendars and monitor deadlines using calendaring and court rules software
- Manage multiple attorney calendars, appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements
- Prepare and process travel and expense reimbursements
- Assist with case management and ensure compliance with court deadlines and filing requirements
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Format, revise, and finalize legal documents with a high degree of accuracy
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Adapt quickly to new technologies, systems, and changing priorities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2 to 5 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Secretary supporting multiple attorneys
- Extensive experience with e-filing in administrative, state, and federal courts
- Strong knowledge of California state and federal court rules and civil procedures
- Experience with legal calendaring software and court deadline management
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with document management systems such as iManage or similar platforms
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, including creating, editing, and converting PDF documents
- Experience with legal timekeeping software preferred
- Administrative hearing experience and transactional law exposure are a plus
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay ranging from $80k to $105k, depending on experience
